Note that I don't specify the actual date yet, I want sunny weather, dammit. So most likely June 19/20. (12/13 was originally available, but Charles can't come then).

Anyway, the Amsterdam Brewery makes some great beer, has decent food and offers a cozy yet open environment. It's on 600 King Street West (http://www.mapquest.ca/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=250&addtohistory=&searchtab=address&searchtype=address&address=600+King+St.+W&city=toronto&state=on&zipcode=&search=++Search++), between Bathurst and Spadina (yes, non-Torontonians, it does rhyme with vagina). Order a Framboise when you're there.

So... nobody interested? =/

I won't be able to make a June 12/13 meet, I'll be in Cambridge for a wedding.

Cool. I didn't realize there were other Torontonians here. I've been lurking for ages and finally signed up earlier this year, but still haven't posted diddly-squat. If it's open to relative newbies, it sounds like fun. I haven't been there in ages.

I will come, whatever date, since I live a block away. Missed the initial message.

Great location, great beer. How I miss good Ontario beer.

Have one for an ex-pat.

It's right downtown - within walking distance of almost all major Toronto sites.

I'm a Torontonian as well, but my June weekends are all spoken for already.

I'd be down with that. Amsterdam does make some sweet beer.

Just trying to get my bearings. I know where the streets are but I can't think of anything around there.

It's a couple of blocks NW of the Skydome and CN Tower, for one. About 5 blocks directly west of First Canadian Place/ScotiaTower and the main skyline buildings, about 4 blocks directly west of Roy Thomson Hall (and the St. Andrews subway stop), 7 blocks SW of Nathan Phillips Square and City Hall.

That should help the triangulation, heh.

Sweet! I think I've been there before...NE corner-ish (Or was it SE? I forget now) of King and Portland? Went there for lunch once when I worked at the Globe and Mail. If you're looking for warm bodies to fill seats, I'll tag along...but why the insistence on a warm sunny day if we're gonna be inside? Shouldn't we like, meet at the beach or something? :)

It's more fun to sit outside and drink beer.

I might be interested, but how old is everyone?

Old enough to drink, we hope :P

Got ID?

Well, that would certainly help. If it really matters, I'm 21.

20. Only ID I have is my health card, which has my photo and date on it.

Then again, I went to plenty of bars without trouble. I look like an ex-convict.

I'm 30, but I like to think I LOOK 20, so I hope they card me :P

I'll be the guy at the door, demanding they ask me for ID :)

What's your date doing on your health card? Who's idea was it to put her on there? ;)

Anyone interested in another meet?

I could go for some beer again. Not that my belly needs it or whatever.

Its good to see the city is all about catering to the alcoholics.

I'd go for that. Even ifs its just a small things like last time. I say we save that big meet for Sept.

Sure. But if you think for one moment this city would spring for easy public transportation conveniently located near the most popular bar hopping neighborhood, you're crazy.

We're just lucky enough that the bus company doesn't charge fare on St Patrick's Day and 4th of July.

Beyond that though? Its some poor sap's night to be the designated driver!
