I think part of my reason I wasn’t scared of the Blob is that I cannot take a monster seriously that has a peppy song associated with it.(I was thinking the 50′s movie more than the 80′s one. Tom is right, that one is somewhat scarier)

And I got scooped by another listener. Darn, I should have gone with something else… :)

Ha ha, Paul Weimer is over 40, too! :)

The Blob from the 50s is perfect for a 3×3 of creatures who need new theme songs.

I saw a trailer for a movie called Wolf Town on youtube(the commenters claim they’rea ctually huskies): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3kfvK7mXO4. They’re supposed to be scary, but they look too adorable.

Ha, I’ve actually seen that movie! It features some pretty playful and happy looking dogs that clearly aren’t even wolves. The “kill” scenes are pretty cute.

I agree with Kelly (at least I think I’m agreeing) that Tom should see Pet Semetary. It has some effective moments (I even think the kid is scary), and Gwynne is good in it. I think it sort of falls apart about midway through, but pretty creepy up to that point.

I’m with Dingus on the creatures in I Am Legend not being scary. It tries so hard to be grotesque and terrifying, but all I see is cg cg:ing cg:ly.
