Qt3 Games Podcast: the McMaster 2012 retrospective

You’ve read enough of Tom Chick burbling on about the games of 2012. On this week’s podcast, it’s time for Jason McMaster to burble on about the games of 2012!

So Just Dance 4 is Game of the Year?

  • CB

I feel like I normally get the jokes you’re making with your music, but this would probably be my number one pick of the year for podcast with the strangest choice for intro and outro songs.

  • tomchick

You see, CB, the point is that 2012 was totally, like, a PARTY year. So, hence the music.

    (I’m afraid that’s all I’ve got. Weak, I know…)

  • CB

Eh, I’ll take it. (That’s what she said! In… in the song… you played….)

In a crowded grocery store asle listening to podcast when McMaster talks about being built to take that many guys at once… I cackled like a witch in front of horrified soccer moms.. Good stuff

Recommend the Ys series to further rebuild faith in the JRPG genre. They’re really tight, fast paced action rpgs with great boss battles. Two on Steam, otherwise I’m sure the PSP ones would provide something to play on the Vita. Just avoid the Ark of Naphatism or something like that(bad port), and be advised that 1&2 are more dated and probably not a good starting point. Storywise they’re basically like FF, you can play any of them np. Hopefully the newest Japan only entry will get localized…

    I’m built for comfort!

Mr. Chick, I believe you are confusing Trahearne with Caithe.

Caithe is the sylvari representative of Destiny’s Edge, the guild suffering all the drama presented in the dungeon story modes. She’s essentially convincing the races to work together.

Trahearne is the leader of the Pact, the alliance of the Vigil, Priory, and Order of Whispers. These organizations are already multiracial but tackle problems in very different ways. He’s essentially convincing different philosophies to work together.

Guild Wars 2 lore, man. Serious business.
