Qt3 Games Podcast: he ain’t heavy, he’s my co-op partner

Resident Evil 6 has some, uh, unique approaches to multiplayer. What other games stand out for their new and different approaches to multiplayer? Also, don’t miss Tom Chick’s exclusive review of FIFA Soccer 13 and Jason McMaster’s return to the olden days of 2.5D gaming.

  • Tim James

To anyone who thinks Tom’s sports game trolling has run out of steam: you are now wrong.

Thanks for the insightful F-I-F-A Soccer 13 review. I was on the fence about buying it but you convinced me.

  • Thongsy

I’m not an expert but I’m almost certain you can change your twitter name. There are a couple of sports writers I follow that changed jobs and their names changed too to represent their new company.

Maybe EA is hoping the changes in Mass Effect will inspire people to play through the game again and, with the game fresh in their minds, encourage them to buy some DLC? I dunno. Just a theory. I haven’t played it, nor do I know much about how their DLC works.

  • tomchick

I like that theory, CB! Maybe the retuning isn’t so much fixing things that are supposedly broken as it’s mixing things up enough to encourage people to jump back in, at which point they’d be more inclined to pick up the DLC.

Also, the scene you referenced was in Return of the Jedi, and it was the Battle of Endor.

I had mild nerd rage when you got that wrong.

  • tomchick

Right, but Endor is a moon of Yavin, so I was technically correct.

You should check out La Mulana if you want more Castleroid McMaster. It just got released on gog, discounted atm.

I’m sure now that Cliffy B has left the building, Shadow Complex won’t remain shackled to XBLA. Furthermore we will get an entry in the UT series as good as 2004! That’s pronounced Two-Double-Oh-Foh for the record.

    -_-

    Let the Tom win.

  • CB

haha no kidding. At least he didn’t start intentionally mixing Star Wars and Star Trek. THAT would have been unforgivable.

That Mario game where one person drove and the other used the items you collected: Mario Kart Double Dash on the Game Cube. Loved that game. Your driver and shooter could switch places with the touch of a button, too. Brilliant.
