Qt3 Games Podcast: who Kickstarted?

This week Bruce Geryk joins us to talk about the Tom vs. Bruce Kickstarter, as well as Conflict of Heroes, Ratchet & Clank, Max Payne 3, Dragon’s Dogma, and CD Projekt’s new cyberpunk game, Cyberpunk. Geryk also fails two quizzes and confesses that he hasn’t seen The Avengers.

We should have told him it was directed by Tarkovsky.

I wasn’t expecting to be called out by name, but I certainly feel validated. Tom vs. Bruce is definitely about the writing and not about The Wizard or Phaedrus or millionaire industrialist W. T. G. Gamesalad, so I totally get that you don’t want to, for lack of a better word, cheapen the product. As I said in the thread, it isn’t hurting your response, so that’s great. There are always, as alluded to in the podcast, stretch goals and new tiers. I am glad that the old school Computer Gaming World cred/Three Moves Ahead recognition is carrying you through with integrity intact. And I appreciated the Dogma 95 jokes.

Is the Conflict of Heros: Awakening the Bear computer game they are talking about the ZnuTzu version here?

Re: that dude in the header image – I don’t like the cut of his jib.  Who does he think he is?!

First, if you get the kickstarter goal, I want to see pictures of Tom and Bruce doing the Tim Schafer thing where he was using bills as toilet paper, napkins, you know stuff like that.

Second, the other kickstarter I want is called “Cain Enable” to fund Tim Cain for his next RPG.

  • John Roberdeau

He’s been at Obsidian for the last six months.  That place is a veritable dream team of old school RPG dudes.

While I am excited to see more Tom vs. Bruce I hope you guys really deliver a good product here, after asking for all our money.

  • Fizishy

Yeah it got me too, I thought the guest might be a McElroy for a minute.

You guys should know there was an indie game about rape called EDMUND, and it’s pretty fascinating. Obviously had a lot of controversy and debate around ’09.
