Diablo III’s remembered deeds of valor

Having recently decided that hardcore is the way to go in Diablo III, I love this video. I think of it as a light-hearted primer to prepare myself for the inevitable moment of my character’s death. Because hardcore Diablo III is like real life in that it’s not a matter of if you will die, but when you will die.

NSFW, naturally.

That was amusing…I have to give someone credit who got a character to 60 in HC mode. Were those 60 Monks in Hell? I am almost to the end of Act II in Hell (not on a HC character) level 55 Wizard, and I have died many times to really bad champion pack combos.

I especially love the guys who were filming themselves.  I hope more people do this specifically so we can study the reactions when their hardcore characters die.

My Witch Doctor died this afternoon as a result of some wicked carelessness on my part.

I want to try Hardcore mode after reading Quintin Smith’s piece in Eurogamer  (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-05-23-going-hardcore-in-diablo-3), but I also don’t want to be swearing about lag any more than I already am.

Yeah I wish my network performance was good enough to try Hardcore

Give it a shot before you write it off.  My ping gets occasional 300ms stretches, but I’ve never felt that it messed me up.  Yet!

You could even make a case that ‘lag death’ adds to the realism of the experience. People die unexpectedly in real life, after all, so why not in a video game?
