I’ve been playing Rise of Legends to re-appreciate for you how good it is. Which led me to call Brian Reynolds, who — no joke — took time out from an “RPG weapons meeting” to talk to me.
Naturally, you’d think the Unit of the Week would be a boat of some sort. A-ha, wrong! Well, at least, you would have been wrong if I’d gone with my initial idea. I had chosen the Giant Squid from Red Alert 2, but then I loaded up the game to grab a screenshot. Ugh.
Shortly after Michael Douglas asks how it is that he’s the bad guy, Robert Duvall shoots him. Michael Douglas goes over the rail and plunges into the gross water underneath the Santa Monica pier. Seriously, you don’t want to swim in that stuff, much less fall into it with an open gunshot wound. That’s pretty much how I felt at that point.
